Duba¡.com sold for $1,650?
Oct 19th, 2008 by Legend
On Sedo.com, Oct., 19th, Duba¡.com sold for $1,650.00 Is it real?
Did winner of the auction got deal of the century?
Hardly!!!
Duba¡.com is NOT what it appear to be.
Duba¡.com
Dubai.com
Can you see the difference?
Duba¡.com is actually xn--duba-3ea.com
It’s called IDN or puny code.
So, how can you tell difference?
One way is copy the domain in question and paste it into good old Notepad.
better way is copy the domain and paste it into web browser and click enter.
You will see “duba¡.com” changed to “xn--duba-3ea.com”.
You see two issues here.
1. If it’s TOO good to be true, then, it usually isn’t. It’s your greed clouding your mind.
2. Is Sedo to blame? - I don’t think so. It’s not their responsibility. After all, item log DOES say it is a IDN.
I just hope the auction winner knows it is IDN.
